I could be totally wrong about this, as I was just a child, but I think that John Cross was killed later in the war and after the war Reid Ross married John's widow. Perhaps somebody could provide more details.

Hi Rosalie, yes you are quite correct: Reid & John were great pals, sadly Reid passed away in January 2005. Veda, Reid's widow is still living in Invergordon in the cottages; I am Reid's nephew (Jinty's son).

Hi John, thank you for clarifying about Reid and John. I knew your Mother very well, in fact all of your family. We used to live just across the road in Clyde Street.
