Launching of the Elf (1938?)One of Duguid’s photos. Written on the back “Launching of the famous Elf at Invergordon in readiness for the regatta.”
The boy is my uncle, Donald MacLeod (Sonny), son of Tom MacLeod (Blacksmith). At the time they lived at Tomich Road before moving to Delny Muir. A few years later he joined the R.A.F. underage at 17 and became a rear gunner in 75 New Zealand Squadron.
Other names mentioned are Andy Mow (4th left), Alistair MacLellan (?) & Pongo Ross (front right). Willie Forsyth’s father is in this photo, but I’m unsure which one.
