Polish camp at Invergordon (1947ish)I have found your archive very interesting. Thank you.
My father, Edmund Redzimski, was stationed at the Polish army camp in Invergordon between 1945 and 1947 when he was demobbed.
He was one of the many "Displaced Persons" at the end of WW2. He was processed in 1945 and given the option to return to Poland or join the Polish army in Scotland. He chose Scotland.
When he was demobbed, he went to London where he met my mother, an Irish girl. They married in 1950. He wasn't able to visit Poland to see his 2 brothers until 1975. He died in 2001.
This is the first of two photos which I believe are from this period. He's in the back row, 3rd from left, in this picture.
