Drill Hall (1949)

Of the band, I recognise: Kenny Urquhart (1st right), a young Ackie Mackenzie (2nd left),
Ian Angus (1st left, second row), Drummer back right; Davie Mackenzie?

Comments:
I spent many many hours listening to this band playing inside the Drill hall. I would sit by the main door, it was always cracked open like it is in the picture. It was a sad day when the Hall burnt down..

I remember a Kenny Urquhart who worked in Munro’s Garage playing the pipes for Rita Sutherlands highland dancing class in the TA hall in Joss Street. He lived with his sister at a cottage called Scotsburn House up Seabank Road.
