Hi Catherine, Margaret is wearing one of those school outfits they used to wear. Do you remember what they were called?
Added by Harry O'Neill on 28 February 2013
It was called a gymslip - belted in the middle and it could be "let down" by moving the buttons on the shoulders. This photo was taken by Duguid in his front yard, which was between the Will family home on Shore Road and the Walker/Smith family home on the corner of Shore Road and Outram Street. I'm squinting into the sunlight and my other front tooth took ages to come in! The date is 1947, shortly after we returned to Invergordon (my birthplace) following the death of my father in Glasgow, in April of that year. My grandmother, Mrs. Dunn, told me that it was his wish that we move back to Invergordon. My other grandparents, who lived in Glasgow, were somewhat disappointed, but I'm glad we did as it resulted in a memorable and happy childhood for Harry and I.
