I have been in Shetland for many years - since 1967. I left Invergordon in 1963 when I went to sea school in London. I was in the merchant navy for quite a few years. I met my wife in 1966 and settled in Shetland leaving the merchant navy in 1971. I have been working for BP for the past 29 years and am due to retire next year. I remember the days in Invergordon well and often think about them. We have visited a couple of times but it has changed a lot since 1963!

Hi Billy (Ginger). I remember you well - scorer of the 2 goals in the Primary Cup Final I mentioned above. I seem to remember being up the Tomich Road when you fell from a conker tree and badly cut your arm on a barbed wire fence below - bet you still have the scar ! In today's world you would probably have been able to sue the farmer for putting the fence there !!!!!!!

Graham, I remember when Billy was leaving school to join the Merchant Navy. You stayed out at Westwood if I remeber right Billy, didn't you? I think that Wallace was up in the Northern Isles as well last I heard, either in Shetland, or Orkney. My, aren't the years flying in, with us all creeping up towards 60 and of course we lost George recently when he passed away. However, I hope you are all going well; it's great to see guys from my era on-line.

Hi Billy, it was really nice to see your picture when looking through this site.
(PS - and Wallace, Dave & George too! I remember when you came into our class in Primary 7, Wallace. What I remember most is you were always smiling - and dare I say it, I remember you 'getting the belt' fairly frequently! Can you remember that?!)

I have lots of photos of early secondary school football teams from 1962 - 1964 and can't find Billy in any of them. I think he left Invergordon not long after leaving Primary school.
I met Leslie Millham a few years back and he was telling me that Billy Macleod has been in Shetland now for many years.
