Invergordon Academy School PhotographThis picture of me, Anne James, and my cousin Amelia Muckle (Amy Seaton) was taken in 1951. I was in Miss Bryce's Class and Amelia was in Miss Macdonald's (gogglies) Qualifying Class. We can both remember me knocking on Miss Macdonald's door and being absolutely terrified to ask if Amelia could be excused to have her photograph taken. Harry O'neill has sent in a photograph of himself and his sister Margaret, (picture #834) taken in exactly the same spot, under the window of Miss Macfarlane's (tich's) window.

Oh my goodness Anne, I remember when Amelia (Amy) was excused to leave the class to go and have this photo taken. Miss Macdonald was NOT amused!!! It's great to read your comments. This site is wonderful!

Great picture Anne, I recall the both of you now. Wasn't Miss Bryce a treat? Gogglie on the other hand was something else....I remember her pointing at me while I was in Miss Macleod's class and her saying "I get you next year" - she was true to her word, used to bang my head against the clock in her classroom (remember it?). She spared no-one the strap, girls and all....Sandals must have been in, as in my picture we are both wearing them.....

Nice to see this picture Anne, could you please give your mother my best wishes. I often think about her at the hospital when Laura Keith was our boss. The staff Christmas Do was a nightmare, your Mam worked so hard and made every special occasion a success.

I would recognise Amelia, I worked with her in Slaters during the school holidays. I was sorry to hear about Barry's death.
