Hugh Ross was a farmer, but his father was D.A.M. Ross referred to in picture #184 as owner of the bakery van.

Looks like Dougal Macintosh in the bonnet. Can anyone identify the fellow on the left? I can't place him but he looks familiar.....

I have to disagree with you about Dougal Mackintosh. It looks very like his hat, but I think it's more likely to be Davie Coon, Ann's father. Surname escapes me at the moment.

Sorry everybody but the gentleman with the bunnet is in fact Dougal sitting at the helm of the Elf. Hugh Ross is to his left holding what looks like 'The Leslie Trophy' which is still competed for each year at Invergordon Boating Club. The picture was taken alongside the old Ferry Slip.
