George Mitchell and Family in about 1902

George Mitchell & Annie (Munro) with 8 of their 16 children born Saltburn/Invergordon. Photo taken approx 1902.
Back row from L to R: Elspet, Annie, George, William, Crissie, Elizabeth. Front row from L to R: Herbert, Beatrice, Dorothy & Daniel.

My nana's family of 16 children lived in Saltburn, but they were all born in Invergordon. I am really looking forward to finding people who remember my family or maybe even relatives.

It had to be 1903 as that was when my dad Herbert was born 13/6/1903.

(Thank you and I've altered the Year from 1902 to 1903 accordingly - Site Admin.)

What a wonderful thing the internet is. I am Richard Matthews, grandson of Crissie. I found a copy of an article from the Ross-shire Journal from June 12th 1942 reporting on the Golden Wedding of Annie George Mitchell. All 16 siblings were named so I decided to have a look.

Hello Richard , I’m Deborah Brown (nee Hogg) I'm Crissie Matthews great grand daughter. My mother is your cousin Mary Hogg (nee Matthews) who posted above. Mary’s father was Douglas Matthews, twin brother of George and elder brother of your father Gordon. My mum was trying to post a response but struggles a bit with IT
