The Ross family of Barbaraville
A photo of the Ross family of Barbaraville, printed on a Privetts studios postcard - they are the sisters of Tommie Ross (who had an ironmongers shop in Invergordon).
Bottom right is Teenie, and there were two brothers not shown (Geordie and Dod).

Would the brother Dod be named after the family name of Dodds? I have Munros from Barbaraville, also Jessie Urquharts, and Andrew Dodds's (married c 1800) daughter Anne married John Munro 1828.

No, Dod was short for Donald.

I remember hearing about Auntie the Pier which was Balintrad pier. I never met her but my parents were neighbours & friends of Barbara & Bill Clark. Barbara was my Godmother.

Hello Liz, Barbara & Bill were my aunt and uncle, so Barb probably had this photo from Auntie the Pier. We went to Balintraid every Wednesday for tea during my summer holidays, and us children would be sent outside to play rain or shine, then back in for a fry up and homemade pancakes and jam.delighted to see names put to the faces of this lovely picture (thank you, Anon!). If any of the Ross family want the original, I’m happy to post it - will hold onto it until June 2025. I’d say the date is much earlier than 1930 more like late 1910s/early 20s
