John Ross and Friend

Dan MacDonald writes: This is my mate John Ross from Barbaraville, taken at the Dingwall Games about 1958 (?). Can't remember the girl's name, but I did 'pinch' her from John and went out with her for a while. She came from the back of Evanton, I think.

Comments:
The girl is Alison Morrison from Balnagown. She later married Sandy Holmes and is now living in Milton I think.

Thank you. Do you have any more snaps of John, (or any of his brothers Dunc, Robert (Sob) or Graham? I would appreciate seeing them.
Cheers - Graham

Curious about Ross family or families from Barbaraville. I am a descendant of a Ross Family from Portleich/Barbaraville and a farm called Balarack or Balvach which was near the old Free Church and Free Church Manse and Delny/Delny Station. Last known connections that I can trace over the internet were Annie MacIntyre and Thomas Allister Campbell Ross, children of my Great Granfather's brother, William Ross and his wife Thomasina Campbell Ross. Any information would be wonderful.

I know the Tommy Ross, he lived across the road from us in Barbaraville. We knew him as Tommy Balavack. Can you tell me who were your parents and your grandparents? My family and I lived at The Temperance, Barbaraville. My father was Kenny Ross and my Mother was Nettie Ross. I can remember a Johnny Mackenzie, wife Barbara and Daughter Ray who lived at Balavack. Ray now lives in Alness.
