The Invergordon Archive
Invergordon RacesThe start of the Fleet Marathon for the Arbothnot Trophy in what is now the Academy Field. Judging by the vintage of the cars this is probably in the late 1920s or early 1930s. None of the tanks is clad in brick and tank 13 is still standing.

It is interesting to see that the tanks were not encased in brick at that time. I guess this must have been done during the war and of course the brick work was painted in camouflage colours. The bricks were subsequently removed in the 50s or 60s.

Bill, in fact at least one still has the brick cladding, and looking at the picture it could be the one second from the right.
