Good view of the pontoon at the bottom of the gangway. Also behind the shed at top of gangway there was a decent set of stairs and a landing probably for the brass, but we used to fish off there.

Yes Harry, the pontoon was a favourite fishing spot. It was also in constant use by the Navy when the fleet was in. I am sure you will remember the liberty boats coming alongside with the crews smartly turned out with their boat hooks ready to steady their dingies so that their mates could safely get on shore for a teetotal visit to Invergordon. (On second thought, maybe I got that last bit wrong!) Merry Christmas and a Guid New Year!

Hi Billy, yep remember the routine of the matelots and their boat hooks. Do you remember the shore patrols? Ours looked pretty tame compared to the yanks who were armed with batons and god knows what else.
