Elf, Ulva and MurielThis picture, taken in in 1951 shows Elf, in the foreground, Ulva, tied up to the wall and the stern of the Muriel. Elf and Ulva were owned by Hugh Ross, Lochslin.
Ulva had just arrived in the firth, having been purchased in the Clyde and is shown in her original gunter rig before her conversion to bermudan rig. This is the only photo of the Muriel that I can find and a poor one at that and so I apologise to Muriel (Macrae) for not doing better. I suppose a quarter of a boat is better than none! Incidentally, Muriel was usually moored with her bow facing the shore.
