Demolishing Town Hall

Somebody apparently at work 'demolishing the Town Hall'. The view in the background is interesting as it shows the cottages at the western end of Joss Street with the tank farm behind. One of the sheds on the south side of Joss Street can also be seen, while Castle Road can be seen in the immediate foreground. For reference, it is worth studying the aerial view shown at picture #651.
With this alignment, the building being 'attacked' is behind the old town hall/cinema.

The sheds to the left are in doctor Auchterlonies back garden..extreme left one I would say is the entrance to the old surgery...next is the gable end where Hamish Mackay stayed....next house will be Jock the Barbers ..the next would be the Joss Street Hall ..shed in the foreground belonged to Donald MacKenzie the butcher...

Hi Duncan, not quite right - the house after Hamish Mackay's was Duncan Chisolm and then Jock the Barbers.
