The result of demolishing Rhind's building in Bank Street (see picture #578 and picture #579).
Picture added on 12 February 2005
Two prefabs sitting back to back had been demolished earlier. They had occupied the site immediately west of Rhinds premises, to the right on this photo.

Harry, you must remember these houses well. We grew up there. I remember the prefabs. Bobby Fair lived in one of them.

Hello Catherine. I remember you and Harry living in these houses, (my Grandfather and Fachy used to work together on the old 225 steam pilot boat), along with the rest of the families. Last time I saw Bobby Fair, he was standing on the forecastle of a Shell tanker on his first voyage to sea. I was on the pilot boat at the time with Dougal. Never thought I'd end up in Shell, albeit in the USA, after so many years at sea myself. Eddie

You betcha Catherine! Your house is on the left end looking at picture, going right was Mr & Mrs Clark (Bucky), then Geordie Ross and family, then Mr & Mrs Dunn (my grandparents), then the Russells (Willie, Geordie, Billy, Mary, David) then on the end the Melons, too many to mention. I do not remember who lived in the other prefab?

Hi, Eddie. Nice to hear from you. Sometimes it doesn't seem long since we were in school. The class is scattered all over now. I did my nurse training in Inverness and then married and stayed in Inverness. I did not have the wanderlust like you!

Hello Catherine. Any idea where everyone else is?
Added by Eddie Trotter on 16 January 2006
Hello Eddie, I have lost touch with a lot of our class. Noreen, Nesta and Norman often contribute to this site. Robin lives in Inverness as does Mary Moir. Agnes is in Edinburgh. That's about all I know of.

Hello Sister MacKenzie, how are you doing? This has nothing to do with the picture but we just wanted to say a Big Thank You to you and all your staff for all you did for me. I am now very healthy and I had my 18th Birthday party in Oct it was good fun
Hayley Bell and family.
