The shop was owned by my Great aunts Madge & Mary Ross - it was a general store. They also had a tea room in the front room of the house. The shop closed in the early 50s but remained intact until 1985 when the house was renovated. The young man in the picture was my father James A Ross (Known as Alastair). I don't know who the ladies are but would love to find out.

Known to the kids as the lemonade shop and the lemonade ladies...used to get Cream Soda here..came with service from the two ladies.....

I remember my sister used to take me to the tearoom for lemonade as a special treat.

I'll always remember your dad having endless political discussions with my dad - seems like yesterday!

We think the women could be Ina the Garage (Macleod, who worked at Taylors Garage) and her sister on the right, Hughellen.

Thanks to all for the memories and for the information. It's facinating to find out more about bygone days.

When the tearoom was closed, you went in the gate at side of the house, knocked on the window and they would serve you,your pop.

I do remember the tearoom well. My friend Kathleen Ross and I used to be allowed to play in it when it was a wet day. I was often sent by my father to the side hatch for ten Woodbine cigs. Lovely memories.
