Norren and Kelly were an excellent choice as they are the longest serving business folk in the High Street. Noreen took over from her mother's shop that was originally where Flowerworld is now and was opened in 1933. When Gilbert Ross extended the Ironmonger's shop, her mother moved across the street to one of Alistair MacGregor's shops - where Blythswood is now.
Her mother's shop started selling 5-ply black wool which was used for socks for the Forces. Then in 1971 Noreen took over and they moved into their present shop, on the east corner of the High Street and King Street, in 1971 and changed the name from C. Macleod to Noreen & Kelly's where they have been to this day.

Noticed that a new mural has been painted on the other side of the high street now, with a picture of a lifeboat crew - it looks great, does anyone know if there are any more planned?

There are more murals planned, the Murals Group, called Invergordon Off the Wall, have a master plan for a trail of murals to use as a magnet for tourists to get them into the town and put Invergordon a little more on the map. If you want to view their website go to www.invergordonoffthewall.co.uk
