What a good photo compared to some old school class photos that can be very stiff and formal. Recognise many people, notably my cousin Pamela MacKenzie who unfortunately is no longer with us. I think the person identified as Johnny Lyall is actually Sandy - John is very much younger unless there is another one.

Yes Graham, a great photo, happy days. The lad far right is indeed Johnny Lyall. Like myself, he came to Invergordon Academy from Bridgend Primary School in Alness in 1958.

I stand corrected Hamish! Seems like there were the Alness Lyalls and the Invergordon Lyalls. On reflection I think Sandy Lyall who I referred to was probably slightly older or maybe just in another class. I commented on one of the football photos that youreslf, John MacKay and George Mackay were all sporting the same hairstyle - looks like you started the style pretty early with the front quiff!!!

In terms of front quiff none of us got close to Douglas Lennox. Most flambouyant structure that ever graced a head!

I got excited when I recognised Joan Ross right away in this photo and thought I should send it on to her family in Quebec. Then I notice it is Joan who has submitted it!

Hello Francoise I remember you coming to stay with us in Alness. My sister Rosalind has not been well now for the last 3 years having been diagnosed with Dimentia while living in Edinburgh I persuaded her to move north to Balintore to be closer to her family but due to her ongoing state of health she has had to go into long term residential care. She often recounted her trip to Belgium and your welcoming family. Hope you are safe and well , Kenny Forrest
