The Invergordon Archive
Invergordon Academy Class 2A or 3A
Trawling through the Archive during lockdown, I have found plenty of memory-stirring photos and comments. I remembered that a year or so ago one of the class gave me a copy of what I think is class 2a or 3a, which must have been around 1960/61. It was not the original and I have had to scan from the copy so apologies for the quality.

Sorry if the name spellings are not 100% - the old brain cells are getting rusty. The copy photo was provided by Jessie Fraser (Merrick) who is fourth from left in second back row, I am third from left on front row.

Great memories, I often wonder where all my School mates went to so thanks Ian Black for putting this up. I went to Australia in 1968 to play football. I was married with 2 children and added a third here. Ended up having a Caravan sales business which my family now run for us. I am on facebook if anyone wants to find me.

i used to go with june turner when i was on leave. a bit difficult as i was out in aden at the time. we did write but sadly it did not last .

No harry, june lived in the cottages unless she moved , dont know who she worked for. Well harry how are you? Another week and i will be 81 unfortunately, hope you are keeping well. The only time i get up to invergordon is to visit my parents grave at rosskeen cemetary .nice to be in touch with you.

OK, thanks Ian, I remember you on the wall at back of police station, think there was 3 of you and one was a girl. Now that is a long time ago..I just turned 80 Ian, plodding along. I think I was thinking of June Sharp but who knows, memory playing tricks now..

Keep in touch old chap! Great memories of invergordon ,the best years of my life. My sister lives in glenrothes, fife and my brother lives just outside liverpool , mum lived to be 92 and died in 2009 . (From a member of the police station gang !!),

June Turner and I were good friends at Invergordon Academy, until I went to Tain Academy to do O Levels and secretarial. Lost touch and often wondered how and where she is. Coincidentally, Harry O’Neill, I’m from Alness and my first job was in Pat Munro’s office!

I wonder what became of George Strachan, his father had the shop on High Street across from the school. Before that he worked on the Pilot Boat with my grandfather Fackie Dunn.

Was that the shop beside the prefab harry? We used to get or 3penny toffee bars there .i remember i was passing that shop one day and i got an arrow ,yes, an arrow ,that hit the side of my left eye !! Never found out where it came from, i was very lucky .

Yes that's the shop. I also remember the prefab too, Boyen and Anna Cameron lived in it..
Close call for sure with the arrow, it wasnt me honest.
Do you remember the constable Callum, red hair? We took his hat off with a rocket fired up King Street from the grate in the road outside Jock the Barbers. Callum was standing on the corner of the High Street. Myself and John (Scotty) Campbell were the culprit launchers, got chased but not caught..

Strachans shop was across from the old School on High Street. I think someone told me that Geordie was a Postie at one time. He made a CD singing Scottish songs because I have one.
