Bonfire Night getting underway

The bonfire lit by the torches from the procession which had formed a circle round the base of the bonfire. A picture of the bonfire in full flow can be seen at picture #531.
A huge turnout of people came to see the annual event organised in the usual professional way by the members of Invergordon Fire Station. Once the fire was well alight there was a thirty minute firework display that was quite superb.

I remember going to bonfires in what was an open lot across the road from Bellfield where I stayed in the 70s.
