High Street Environmental Upgrade 2004

North side of the High Street, at the western end of the works, looking west. Brick paving across the full width of the High Street presents a single surface, graded to allow for drainage. The central section providing room for two-way traffic can be seen. Parking spaces are denoted by the dark grey surface, giving 45 degree parking. The black feature in the centre of the picture, set into the stone coloured surface, is a protective grid which will accomodate a mature tree. Several of these will be planted on both sides of the road, adding to the Environmental Upgrade.
